What is ISO?
In digital photography ISO measures the sensitivity of the image sensor. The same principles apply for film photography- the lower the number the less sensitive your camera is to light. As you increase the ISO, the sensor becomes more sensitive to light, which allows it to capture more light without slowing down the shutter speed or opening up your aperture.

An aperture is a hole or opening through which light travels. It can control the amount of light reaching the film or image sensor. The aperture size will regulate the films or image sensors degree of exposure to light.

What is shutter speed?
Shutter speeds are measured in seconds, or fractions of a second. For example, a shutter speed of 1/100 means 0.01 seconds.
